  • Proteolytic enzymes from the serine endopeptidase family are found in normal blood and urine. Specifically, Kallikreins are potent vasodilators and hypotensives, increase vascular permeability and affect smooth muscle.
  • They act as infertility agents in men. Three forms are recognized, PLASMA KALLIKREIN, TISSUE KALLIKREIN, and PROSTATE-SPECIFIC ANTIGEN. Therapeutically, kallikrein is used in treating peripheral vascular and coronary arterial diseases and in delayed fracture and wound healing.
